Last post of 2008!!

I have had a great few days! I have been riding on Friday, Sunday and Today!! Sevens mom, Darcy, has been off work last week and this week and the weather has been pretty good so we took advantage of it. Christian is doing GREAT. He willing loped quite a bit, that is his fastest speed so far LOL and it is not a fast one. He is sooo smooth though. Christian was a bit tired today so we took it easy, he was out yesterday with Darcy and her daughter and he was a perfect gentleman which is always nice. Darcy and I switched horses on the way home. Seven is always wanting to go so it was a nice break for Darcy. She also said he was like riding a Cadillac! He was a good boy and did his lateral gate on the way home. I had fun on Seven and we galloped quited a bit which was a nice break for me as well. I really miss my arab, and that gotta go gotta go all the time. One of these days I will upday with a video or pictures I promise! Have a safe and happy new year!!! May God bless you all!

Update on Christian

We had a small scare with Christian right before I went to the NFR. He had been limping and was not getting better so I called out the farrier. He tested what he could and said that his pain was in his foot could be his coffing bone, but with out x-rays we would not be able to tell. He suggested that we could either put shoes on his front feet or wrap them. Since we would like to keep him barefoot we opted for the wrap and I told the farrier that I would call him when I got back from Vegas. While I was in Vegas I also bought a ration balancer that has all the vitamines and nutrients he is not getting from his hay. While I was gone Christian stoped limping!!! YA! I started him on his ration balancer when I got back to town. That was about 2 weeks ago and he is a different horse now!! He willing will trot and lope when he is in the arena with Seven. He is excited to see us when we go feed and will trot up to the gate. He has even kicked at Seven a few times! Seven is the top dog but at least Christian is sticking up for himself a little bit now. There is a spark in his eye, his coat is shinny and he has gained weight! I can not wait until spring to see what he is going to look like when he sheds out! I was starting to think that he was just going to be able to be used for the girls since he was soooo slow, but he is now comming along. I havent been able to take him out on the trail yet, but I did ride in the arena a few days after I came home from vegas and he is doing soooooo good. I hope that the weather will at least ease up a bit and I can get a trail ride in with Darcy and Seven in the next 2 weeks or so. I need to get a new video up. I will try to do that maybe this weekend when Eric is off and can help with the kids and the horses.! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas to ALL
