We had a small scare with Christian right before I went to the NFR. He had been limping and was not getting better so I called out the farrier. He tested what he could and said that his pain was in his foot could be his coffing bone, but with out x-rays we would not be able to tell. He suggested that we could either put shoes on his front feet or wrap them. Since we would like to keep him barefoot we opted for the wrap and I told the farrier that I would call him when I got back from Vegas. While I was in Vegas I also bought a ration balancer that has all the vitamines and nutrients he is not getting from his hay. While I was gone Christian stoped limping!!! YA! I started him on his ration balancer when I got back to town. That was about 2 weeks ago and he is a different horse now!! He willing will trot and lope when he is in the arena with Seven. He is excited to see us when we go feed and will trot up to the gate. He has even kicked at Seven a few times! Seven is the top dog but at least Christian is sticking up for himself a little bit now. There is a spark in his eye, his coat is shinny and he has gained weight! I can not wait until spring to see what he is going to look like when he sheds out! I was starting to think that he was just going to be able to be used for the girls since he was soooo slow, but he is now comming along. I havent been able to take him out on the trail yet, but I did ride in the arena a few days after I came home from vegas and he is doing soooooo good. I hope that the weather will at least ease up a bit and I can get a trail ride in with Darcy and Seven in the next 2 weeks or so. I need to get a new video up. I will try to do that maybe this weekend when Eric is off and can help with the kids and the horses.! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas to ALL
